Tired of listening to people screaming at each other? Confused and exhausted by the moral anomalies and dearth of reason somewhat common in the new normal? Here’s an alternative for you. Namaste Publishing offers two beautifully printed books to guide us to more peaceful, mindful living.
Constance Kellough, who published Eckhart Tolle, has written two lovely books, each with its own focus. The Chronicles of Bizah: A Student of Truth features a Pooh-like character whose challenges and realizations introduce basic Buddhist teachings. This book would make a wonderful gift for a child for bedtime reading, but it is also a good one for anyone to pick up and peruse during a few free moments to restore mindfulness. Pack this in your suitcase or summer bag. This book, in its simple tales of Bizah’s experiences, reinforces the healing lessons we would all do well to remember in a light-hearted, simple way.
For those intimidated by all the meditation apps and materials available via multimedia, all the styles and approaches, I recommend Kellough’s The How to Inner Peace: A Guide to a New Way of Living. From the very start, it is evident that Kellough is no new age novice just hoping to make a buck. Her explanations of esoteric concepts are beautifully written and true to the ancient, core teachings on mindfulness and meditation. If you are hoping to start a meditation practice and/or to understand Eastern concepts of the mind, this book is for you.
By purchasing these books, you will not only gain useful knowledge and much to contemplate, but you will also support a smaller press that aims to put wisdom, compassion, and healing into the world, a timely investment for the spring of 2021.
